About Us

Craft. Community. Fun.

Craft

Andrea and Megan are both life-long and avid crafters.  We both enjoy knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting.  These days Andrea leans more towards crochet and quilting, while Megan has gone all the way down the fiber rabbit hole into spinning, weaving, and dyeing yarn.  We think it is important to develop and pass on these skills so that everyone can feel the joy of creating beautiful and meaningful objects.  Megan and Andrea have also spent the last 10 years developing another craft, that of preserving locally grown fruits and vegetables into jams, jellies, pickles, and sauces with our sister business, Garnet Gals, which we still run. Please feel free to reach out!

Community

We feel so lucky to be part of the community of Andrews, and the fiber arts community in Western NC.  We have been given friendship, camaraderie, support, and many amazing gifts, including Megan's loom.  We hope that our shop can be a vehicle for drawing others into the fiber arts and also giving back to the larger community in which we live.  Please join us at our Community night each Tuesday, and join one of our community service projects, making warm, cozy, and fun projects for those in need.

Fun

Let's face it. Life is hard!  And, honestly, so is learning a new craft or skill.  It can be frustrating doing something for the first time, especially when it doesn't go how you imagined it. Crafting is a fun way to escape from our worries and fears, but learning it will take practice, patience, and a willingness to just rip it out and start over. We promise to create a fun and welcoming environment for everyone to learn, grow, and experiment within the fiber arts, and we promise to help when it all goes wrong.  We hope that everyone who joins us will interact with their fellow crafters in a kind, loving, and supportive manner, and also be kind to themselves as they learn awesome new crafting skills!
